Omicelo Construction Group, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a seasoned and flexible Housing Rehabilitation Specialist. The Specialist leads the Home Adaptation Team in the identification of home modification and accessibilty renovations that will improve the health and safety of the participants home while enhancing their mobility. The team will serve multiple regions across Southwest PA and presents unique opportunities to learn new skills and experience a new and expanding industry. The Home Adaptation division completes physical adaptations to homes, both private and rental to make the home environment safer and easier for the individual to function and navigate with greater independence. Typical areas that are modified include entry and exits, stairs, bathrooms and kitchens, and the ability to access common shared areas. Home Adaptations consist of installation, repair, maintenance, warranty work, permitting and inspections. The Residential Construction Specialist is the backbone of our organization and integral to our success. This role is responsible for traveling to job sites to install home modification systems and products. They provide superior customer service by ensuring the safety and satisfaction of each client. As the key component to completing assigned work orders, this role will interpret and execute the plans and specifications through project completion. This role supports effective communication with the client with regards to construction related questions and escalates all concerns appropriately to ensure complete customer safety and satisfaction. This role works under the direction of the Construction Manager. Duties and Responsibilities: The Residential Construction Specialist interprets and executes the installation of assigned work orders to ensure quality installation. The following reflects essential responsibilities and duties for this position but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned to an individual. Management may assign or reassign responsibilities and duties at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Preparing construction sites, materials, and tools. Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment. Translating plans, work orders, drawings, and spoken instructions to project completion. Knowledge of and strict adherence to building codes. Executing residential renovations including installation of doors, cabinets, flooring, drywall, painting, bathroom and kitchen accessories. Keeping the worksite safe and clean. Assisting with transport and operation of heavy machinery and equipment. Mixing, pouring, and leveling concrete. Installation of equipment. Basic electrical and plumbing work. Qualifications Strong Knowledge of hand and power tools. Ability to install frameworks, structures, and fixtures. Understanding blueprints and project plans. Shaping and cutting materials according to specifications. Mechanical skills for working effectively and efficiently with diverse tools and machines, such as extension ladders, electronic and laser levels, and rotary tools like power saws. Operating and repairing common construction tools. Mathematical skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Physical strength and stamina. Ability to travel independently across Western PA. Willingness to undertake training as necessary. Basic computer literacy including use of calendars, word documents, email. Ability to use a camera and upload pictures. Commitment to customer service. Ability to work on a team. Minimum education, training, and experience Formal Education not required Minimum of 5 years of experience in general construction worker/handyman services Experience in accessibility modification and home adaptation. Experience creating and following project budget Ability to use basic office and construction related technology platforms Demonstrated skill in building/design Knowledge of estimating, plan reading and scoping projects Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems Skills Required General construction performance and oversight Ability to create site and construction plans Time and personnel management Excellent verbal and written communication skills Eye for design and functionality Orientation to detail and ability to troubleshoot Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Salary: $33 - $40 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
