We are currently searching for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Technician plays a valuable role in our organization by inspecting and evaluating Frankford s daily operations including: processing, production and packaging. Additional responsibilities include rating productions lines for overall quality, weight control and adherence to GMP's. The goal of this position is to ensure all Frankford products meet specifications and to uphold our high-quality standards.
- 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00PM to 10:30PM
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative:
- Aid in developing line specifications for new items
- Complete daily inspection reports
Line / Plant Inspections:
- Assure products meet standards set forth by BOM and specifications established
- Rate each line for Quality, GMP s and Safety
Microbiological and Lab Testing:
- Test and record viscosity, extraneous, fineness, color, etc.
- Collect sterile samples of ingredients/ production samples
- Maintain a sanitary work environment
- Fill out appropriate paperwork for QA testing
- Prepare for micro samples for testing of Salmonella, Coli forms, APC, Yeast & Mold
Record Keeping:
- Record daily production scores and items produced
- Record all metal and screen findings
Product Development:
- Prepare samples for sales and PD department as requested
- Give input on design, weight, decorations
Interpersonal Interactions:
- Advise supervisors and line personnel on quality issues
- Advise PD Managers of quality issues in regard to packaging
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
- Degree in Food Science or 5-year-minimum in Food/Beverage Industry
- Knowledgeable in Food Safety
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Able to multi-task with limited supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Willingness to learn
- Team-player who can also work independently
