Requirements and Competencies
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have electronics trade school or equivalent military training with emphasis on electronics
- Must have at least 1 year of practical electronics or fire alarm system experience
- Must have a good working knowledge of multi-meters and other basic hand tools
- Must be able to obtain FASA/BASA certification within the first 90 days of employment
- Must be able to work at heights up to 40 feet using a ladder or high reach lift
- Must be able to work in attics and other areas not designed for continuous occupation
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes
- Must be comfortable with exposure to noise, vibrations and motion
- Must be able to train on and properly use protective gear
- Must be comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor
- Must be comfortable working around animals
- Must be available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Possession of a valid state driver's license preferred
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications preferred
- Experience in repairs of Gamewell, Notifier and Simplex fire alarm systems preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics preferred
- Familiarity with NFPA codes preferred
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform fire alarm inspections under supervision
- Assist with fire suppression system inspections
- Inspect/Repair fire extinguishers, emergency lights, exit lights, and other safety equipment
- Perform field/bench repairs of fire/security alarm equipment and associated reporting hardware
- Perform installation and modification of fire/security systems and associated equipment under supervision
