The company boasts a fleet of 200+ late-model, meticulously clean coaches in 12 locations across the United States. Windstar Lines serves a wide variety of customers including tour companies, schools, universities, senior citizen groups, government agencies, bank travel clubs, military, community organizations, politicians, and sports teams.
Role Description
This is a Full-time General Manager position located on-site in Rockford, IL. The General Manager will oversee and operate daily activities and coordination of staff to include drivers, cleaners, technicians and customer support.
Qualifications
- Experience in the transportation industry, preferably in motorcoach charter
- Management skills and experience overseeing the work of teams and staff
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial strategy, and performance metrics
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field preferred
Essential Job Functions
- Ensures all departments are properly staffed by overseeing the effective recruiting, hiring, and promoting the right people for the right positions.
- Makes sure employees are being effectively managed daily to maximize productivity and morale, including through coaching of key leaders/employees.
- Optimizes employee performance through effective ongoing evaluations, recognition, rewards, and discipline/corrective-management to produce expected results.
- Strengthens employee performance through timely training and development.
- Effectively structures the organization s systems, processes, and procedures to facilitate the achievement of results and productive intra-company/inter-departmental coordination.
- Successfully resolves deviations from expected performance through systems that monitor and track performance.
- Ensures adherence to policies and procedures; and makes policy recommendations to the executive team.

- Ensures the company proactively and effectively manages customer expectations.
