Ingrid+Isabel is looking for a strategic leader to lead Design, directing creative and design direction across all brands.
Position Description:
As a visionary leader of our design team, you will have the exciting responsibility of shaping the direction of I+I Brand product lines through a strong creative vision and thoughtful brand aesthetic. You will concept and create product that exceeds our customers' expectations the needs of Mom. This position will serve both Ingrid+Isabel s brand collections, including our successful sister brand, Isabel by Ingrid+Isabel for Target.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver on the creative direction of the company across Ingrid+Isabel brands.
- Lead, collaborate, design, and co-design with a team through all aspects of the design process
- Deliver a strong creative vision to shape brand aesthetic and seasonal design strategy
- Identify evolutionary and seasonal trends, fabric innovation, and opportunities that serve mom
- Ensure continuity of brand, while distinctly designing for each brand s purpose and identity
- Maintain strong internal cross-functional relationships with sourcing & production, technical design, and marketing teams to deliver our product goals.
- Work with marketing to communicate brand messaging, product features and benefits
- Ensure execution, quality, and desired margin targets are achieved across all brands
- Participate in standard design practices, such as concepting, sketching, BOMs, fitting and vendor partnership for print and pattern development, as well as factory supported work.
- Research advances in design using AI, advanced processes and lead times to improve design success
- Elevate and deliver on quality, versatility and comfort in design
- Internal and client meetings, with some travel
About You
We look for leaders who balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, seamlessly transitioning from big-picture planning to detailed design work. Ideal candidates will have:
- 10+ years of experience in design and product development with at least 2 to 4 years of senior experience in functional design of women's apparel (speciality sizing experience is a plus)
- Functional designer with in-depth knowledge of seamless, active and solution-based product with a strong sense of trend and fabric/color/print direction
- Strong computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel; PLM/WFX a plus.
- Strong understanding of how to translate trends through the lens of the customer and brand
- Ability to quickly translate business opportunities into a compelling strategy and execution
- Solid project management, team building, analytical, presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency managing multiple seasons at one time and tracking towards development deadlines
