Piper Companies is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a highly accrediting engineer firm. The Mechanical Engineer will get to serve in the Science and Technology division. This will be an onsite role in Baltimore, Maryland with flex 12 hours WFM, and flex hours as long as meeting core hours of 9am-3pm.
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer :
- Performs work involving the application of all HVAC aspects of mechanical engineering to the functional area of the assignment. Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Conceptualizes the initial mechanical design approach for major phases of large facilities type projects, or has overall responsibility for the mechanical engineering work. Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates mechanical engineering work.
- Also, supervises the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies. Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e., conflicting design requirements, difficult coordination requirements).
- Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams. Reviews plans and prepares or reviews user requirement specifications (URS), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
- Participates in contract bidding and administration; observes project action on site. Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project. Performs other duties assigned by a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
Qualifications of the Mechanical Engineer: - B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in a mechanical, industrial manufacturing environment
- PE License
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Preferred: Previous experience with cleanroom, laboratory, and critical environment design
- Preferred: Process Engineer (P&ID, process piping and process controls) experience
Compensation of the Mechanical Engineer: - $100,000-$150,000
