Job Summary:
Responsible for: bird weights, case weights and blood pulling. Test and report egg strengths and necropsy results. Perform House Person's duties and responsibilities when necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for bird weights
- Responsible for case weights
- Responsible for blood pulling
- Responsible for assistance with pest control program
- Collect, analyze and compile necropsy results
- Responsible for egg shell strength testing and reporting
- Spreadsheet applications
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and procedures
- Perform House Manager's duties and responsibilities when necessary
- Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.
- Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
- Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Backup: - A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences or vacancies; refer to Rembrandt Foods site-specific facility back-up matrix on file.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Required:
- Husbandry Skills-Maintaining proper feed, water, climate and living conditions in building
- Shower In (REI provides clothing and footwear)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to determine problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand
- Awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate, atmosphere and equipment
- Fine Motor Skills
- Hand/Eye/Foot Coordination
- Independent Self Starter/Team Player
- Mathematical Skills: Logical/Analytical, Percentages, Fractions, Moderate Algebra
- Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, Power Point, Touch Screens
- Moderate English: speaking, writing and reading for job and safety issues
