Job DescriptionNevada State University (NSU) invites applications for the position of 160 Hour Appointment - Art Model. NSU is looking to build a database of models, who we can call from time-to-time to pose for our art classes and who can do short dynamic poses for warm-ups as well as hold longer more sustained poses. Models may be scheduled for a variety of sessions according to their availability. Hours and locations (generally on campus and during regular class times) will be worked out with as much notice as possible.
Modeling involves posing for figure drawing and art classes. Students come to the classes with a range of art experience, and we have both male and female students in the classes. We are looking for and accepting a wide range of models, body types, and experience. Models must be willing and able to pose nude.
Models will be expected to remain in the pose requested by the instructor for an extended period of time. The ideal model can pose in a range of traditional and original poses, from gestures to sustained poses, as required, to demonstrate the flexibility and anatomy of the human form. Models should have an awareness of classic and traditional poses in art and must be physically able to provide a range of poses and gestures for quick sketches as well as be able to hold poses for longer drawings.
Applicants should be punctual, professional, and reliable. All ages (must be at least 18 years old) and body types are encouraged to apply. Previous experience as an artist's model, or dance, acrobatic, or theater experience is preferred, but not required.

Minimum Qualifications:- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NSU does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:- Previous experience as an artist's model, or in the areas of dance, acrobats, or theater.
Work Hours:- Classes are 3 hours long and class sizes tend to range from about ten to twenty students depending on the class.
- Please note that this is an occasional rather than regular position. Expected time commitment is up to 20 hours per semester. Nevada State University cannot guarantee a certain number of hours per week, month, etc.
- Classes run Monday through Saturday and sessions may be held in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and the occasional weekend.
Hourly Rate:$25.00 per hour.
