Parts Manager
Job Details
Essential Job Functions
Work directly with customers, in person, via email, and over the phone
Prepare quotes
Establish parts availability and place parts orders
Maintain an efficient level of inventory and an accurate inventory count
Make sure parts are organized so they are easily located and accessible by personnel extraneous to this parts department
Maintain proficiency with electronic business system and other computer programs
Effectively engage departmental personnel; develop an energetic staff focused on customer satisfaction
Communicate, monitor, and enforce effective processes within the parts department
Work cooperatively with Corporate Parts Manager and parts managers at the other locations to ensure consistency within the company
Manage the department schedule and prioritization of tasks
Manage parts warranty and return claims within required timeframe to receive maximum credit
Oversee the handling of obsolescent parts
Build and maintain good working relationships with the other departments in the dealership
Manage parts orders to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize shipping costs
Work extended hours and Saturdays when necessary
On Call as needed
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to respond quickly, efficiently, and professionally to demands and requests from customers
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to cultivate and maintain excellent customer relationships
Ability to work calmly under pressure and act with a sense of urgency
Ability to promote a customer-first mentality within your team
Leadership experience: ability to tactfully instruct and coach personnel
Ability to handle and resolve interpersonal conflict
Effective planning, organizational, and time management skills and the ability to multi-task
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
Background in agriculture and knowledge of farm equipment
Ability to use a computer and business software
Experience in parts sales and customer service
A cooperative, service-oriented attitude
Ability to work well with other departments, even when there are differing priorities
Familiarity with Case IH and Kubota equipment and parts
Ability to work extended hours and Saturdays when necessary
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods of time with walking, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, pulling, leaning, twisting, and kneeling
Ability to lift items u to 75 lbs.
Fitness to work in adverse and extreme weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
Prior management experience
Basic understanding of financial principles relative to parts department operations
Thorough knowledge of the parts we sell
Class E driver's license
Forklift certification
Candidate is required to successfully pass the pre-employment screenings which include background check, pre-employment drug testing as well as driving record evaluation
