Workplace Location Gold Coast An opportunity has become available for a **Medical Team Leader (Geriatric Emergency Department Intervention and Residential Aged Care Facility Acute Support Services)** to join **Gold Coast Health** (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. **About the role**
The medical team leader of the Geriatric Emergency Department Intervention (GEDI) and Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) Acute Support Services is a key leadership position within the emergency department and will be actively involved in leading and managing operational performance and strategic planning across the service.
The position will work collaboratively with the Aged Care department and the wider Health and Hospital Service (HHS) to progress new models of care that will enable services to better meet the growing needs of frail older persons presenting for emergency care across the Gold Coast.
The medical team leader is responsible for planning, implementation and sustainability of new models of care through effective partnerships with the interdisciplinary leadership team.
**Requirements for the role**
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B and COVID-19.
* Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
* MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) and registrable as a emergency medicine specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
* While not mandatory, post graduate experience working at consultant or fellow position level in a tertiary emergency department is desirable.
**Salary information**
* Permanent part time (20 hours per fortnight)
* Estimated total remuneration up to $123,629 p.a., comprising:
* **Senior Staff Specialist** - Base hourly rate from $105.54 - $111.89 p.h
* **Staff Specialist** - Base hourly rate from $88.25 - $102.51 p.h
* Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
