What we are looking for:

We are looking for a Database Administrator to manage our infrastructure across multiple datacenter and public clouds. This role will work with other team members to provide reliable database infrastructure via internal and public cloud providers (AWS, IBM, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve pertinent data.
• Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.
• Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
• Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
• Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
• Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
• Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
• Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
• Contribute to design documents and participate in design reviews.
• Work closely with key stakeholders, including Operations & Finance, to develop solutions and designs.
• Determine severity and impact of issues on the business and communicate status to Management.
• Work both independently and with a group of highly skilled developers
• Be flexible with work hours and schedule; provide on-demand support as needed.
• Participate in after-hours deployments and maintenance activities including a monthly on-call rotation as needed.
• Effectively and efficiently solve mission critical technical problems in a startup-paced business environment.

Required qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of database management systems as MongoDB and MySQL/MariaDB.
• Experience with ETL processes with preference using Talend and Google BigQuery.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake and BigQuery).
• Experience in Linux.
• Experience in scripting (bash shell, Python).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP stack.
• Knowledge of Public Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Datastores (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Expert knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
• Exposure to ML / Data Lakes.
• Experience with Event Driven Architecture, like Apache Kafka or similar pub/sub
• Successfully communicate technical issues clearly to individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge and understanding.
• At least two years related experience required.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or relevant certifications.
