Background

Summary

The EHS Specialist will support the Director of Health Physics in ensuring safe operations at our Indianapolis manufacturing site. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with compliance of all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations. The candidate will also provide technical EHS support to operations, quality, engineering, facilities, and supply chain functions.


Job Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in the development, administration, and implementation of EHS policies, programs, and safety at the manufacturing site.
  • Perform Industrial Hygiene evaluations, audits, and initiatives.
  • Provide, prepare, and coordinate EHS training, as required.
  • Prepare/assist in composing internal and external reports for governmental agencies (EPA, IDEM, IDHS, OSHA, etc.).
  • Lead incident investigations identifying root cause and corrective actions.


Education and Experience

  • BS or MS in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or relevant scientific field.
  • 2+ years experience with manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical industrial hygiene practices.
  • Professional certification (CSP, CIH, etc.) is desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety and government regulations. Knowledge of Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or Agreement State regulations is beneficial.


Skills and Qualification

  • Highly motivated and organized scientific professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interface with other departments in a team environment.
  • Strong assessment and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to efficiently use MS office, LabLogic, SAP, and other associated software systems.
  • Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information.
