Pay Range

$48,100.00-$66,100.00 Annual


This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cold Heading Machine Operator to join our team. A Cold Heading Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining cold heading machines to produce precision metal components. This role ensures efficient production, adheres to safety protocols, and maintains quality standards. The successful applicant will be proficient in cold forming processes and familiar with other fabrication shop machinery (press brakes, shears, CNC lathes etc).


Multiple shifts available.


Responsibilities:

Machine Setup:

  • Prepare and set up cold heading machines according to work orders and specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling, and dies for optimal performance.

Production Operation:

  • Operate cold heading machines to create metal parts.
  • Monitor production processes, feed materials, and ensure consistent output.
  • Troubleshoot issues during production.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect finished products for defects, dimensions, and adherence to specifications.
  • Use measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers.

Maintenance:

  • Perform maintenance tasks, including die changes and set up.
  • Keep the machine area clean and organized.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Report any safety concerns promptly.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate production records and logs specific to cold heading machines.
  • Experience with SAP highly desirable.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in cold header operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot upset conditions.
  • Proficient in shop math.
  • Proficient in use of precision measuring equipment.



Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience with Nakashimada or National Machinery cold forming equipment.
  • Tool and Die background.
  • CNC experience.
