YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN PAIN PSYCHOLOGY, HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY, AND/OR CHRONIC DISEASE PSYCHOLOGY.


Job Overview:

Rheumission is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pain Psychologist or Chronic Disease Psychologist The ideal candidate will have expertise in providing evidence-based psychological interventions to support patients living with chronic pain, and chronic conditions. Most autoimmune patients suffer from anxiety and depression that are not addressed by conventional medicine. At Rheumission, helping our patients live their best lives is our priority.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including rheumatologists, lifestyle medicine providers, dieticians, and coaches to assess and address the psychological and emotional needs of patients with rheumatic diseases.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate patients' pain experiences, coping strategies, emotional functioning, and quality of life.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each patient, utilizing evidence-based interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, relaxation techniques, and pain management strategies.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about the psychological aspects of chronic pain and rheumatic diseases, including stress management, coping skills, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and support groups for patients with rheumatic diseases to promote peer support, psychoeducation, and skill-building.
  • Monitor patients' progress throughout the course of treatment, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide ongoing support and encouragement to promote adherence and engagement.
  • Document patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records (EMR) or other designated systems.
  • Stay current with the latest research and developments in the field of pain psychology and rheumatology and participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping patients with autoimmune diseases.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed as a psychologist in California and/or PA
  • Specialized training or experience in pain psychology, health psychology, or chronic disease.
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing psychological interventions for patients with chronic pain, chronic disease, and autoimmune diseases.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and engage with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a commitment to promoting holistic well-being and empowering patients to actively participate in their treatment.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) or other clinical documentation systems.
