Triad Engineering Inc. has an immediate need for Staff CADD Technician in our Hagerstown, MD office.Employee-Owned Company ~ Comprehensive Benefit PackageEmployee-Friendly CultureUnder regular supervision, this entry level position will operate Computer-Aided Design computer systems. Duties performed will include, but are not limited to, creating, updating and modifying maps, and performing manual drafting in support of a variety of routine projects.DUTIES* Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures* Provide CADD drafting and design support for engineer, or other staff, for typical civil engineering projects* Perform work as assigned from sketches, verbal instructions and notes* Work under the direction of the Practice Leader, engineer or Senior CADD Technician* May provide quantity estimates or other measurements from CADD files to engineer, or other staff, for cost estimate purposes* Work closely with all departments to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information* Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, meeting standards, fits and stack-ups* Work from drawings, sketches or scanned images, customer drawings, or government drawings / specifications* Use the accepted drawing standards as guidelines* Strive to make each project profitableQUALIFICATIONSEducation* High school diploma or equivalent* Technical school courses in computer-aided drafting desirableExperience* No experience is required; 1 year of experience preferredAdditional RequirementsMust possess:* A valid driver's license or reliable transportation to and from the workplace* The ability to read, write and perform basic math* The ability to comfortably communicate with the public* Basic computer skills (MS Office), including the ability to learn various types of company / client softwareWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and to climb, balance, crouch, stoop, crawl and kneel.
