This\nis a grant-funded position expected to run through September, 2024. \nGRADEASTD16LOCATION OF POSITION201 Baptist Street, Salisbury, Maryland 21801\n\nMain Purpose of JobThe Grant Coordinator will be a key member of the team working to develop and implement community-based alternatives to detention for justice-involved youth in Wicomico and Somerset Counties who have a mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorder. This position is funded by a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's Juvenile Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Project (JJMHCP) and is expected to run through September 2024.\nPOSITION DUTIES\nCoordinate planning activities,\nincluding gathering data, helping to develop protocols, and completing OJJDP's\nrequired Planning and Implementation Guide.\n\n \nConduct screenings, needs\nassessments, and develop service plans for justice involved youth with\nMI/CMISA.\n \nCollaborate with OPD attorneys and\nMaple Shade treatment providers to coordinate treatment with the juvenile case.\n \nConduct outreach about the program\nand services with the juvenile court and community stakeholders.\n \nAssist with project reporting.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation:\nDetermined by the State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.\n\n\nExperience: None\n\n\nNote: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces\nmilitary service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a\ncommissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty\ncodes in the Social Science, Psychology or Welfare fields of work on a\nyear-for-year basis for the required experience.\n\n\nDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCurrently\nlicensed as an LMSW.\nBackground and\nexperience in juvenile justice and/or mental health and co-occurring disorders.\nExperience\nconducting screening interviews and assessments, and developing service plans.\nStrong written\nand verbal communication skills\nDetail-oriented\nand able to meet internal and external deadlines\nLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS1. Employees are required to be licensed as a Graduate Social Worker (on or by June 30, 2018), Master Social Worker (on or after July 1,2018, Certified Social Worker or Certified Social Worker-Clinical by the State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees who fail to obtain the required continuing education credits shall be subject to disciplinary action including demotion, suspension and dismissal. \n2.Employees of theDepartment of Juvenile Services must complete an approved training program in group counseling techniques. \n3. Employees of theDepartment of Juvenile Services may be required to complete the Level I Counseling course certified by the Maryland AIDS Professional Education Center. \n4. As a contractual employee, you will be\nresponsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription\ncoverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of\nMaryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits.
