Job Details
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing the daily workload, inspecting for quality of repairs, and facilitating communications between a crew of multi-craft technicians and operations management. This individual will also determine the need for major repairs of individual equipment and assist with planned maintenance and projects. This is a hands-on role that will require performance of maintenance technician functions.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the maintenance team, including technicians who focus on mechanical and electrical functions.
- Troubleshooting of equipment and production line failures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and policies.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of needed parts and planning of work orders.
- Assist with and participate in preventative maintenance initiatives.
- Train and evaluate new hires on maintenance procedures and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with other managers, supervisors, engineers, quality control staff, and internal departments.
- Perform electrical skills including but not limited to troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment, drives, faulty wiring, etc.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Assist with hiring and annual performance reviews.
Requirements:
- Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 6 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Previous supervisory and/or lead experience.
- Knowledge of various types of manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes.
- Better than average Electrical troubleshooting skills including 480VAC, control circuits and reading schematics/blueprints.
- Experience with motors, gearboxes and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
