Role Overview:
Seel is looking for an experienced, strategic, results-driven Head of Finance to build out and lead our financial operations. As a key member of the executive team, you will play a crucial role in establishing the direction and growth of the company, developing and executing on financial strategies and operations, building out best practices and compliance, and supporting critical business initiatives.
Role details
- Set up and own the full Finance function at Seel.
- Support fundraising, BoD and investor-facing materials, including providing strategic financial recommendations to the executive team and board of directors to support decision-making.
- Serve as a leader and strategic thought partner to company leadership as well as the business and product teams.
- Define frameworks for how we evaluate decisions on capital and resource allocation
- Manage FP&A, notably financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Manage Finance operations, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, finance and payments vendors, insurance partners, compensation and offers, and general treasury.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, financial reporting standards, and tax obligations.
- Monitor and analyze financial and key metric performance, identifying areas for improvement and P&L optimization.
- Lead financial modeling, analysis, and due diligence for partnerships and strategic enterprise accounts.
- Support the product and sales team in monitoring and analyzing the performance of key business metrics
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, financial and product partners, insurers, auditors, and legal advisors.
- Stay up to date with industry and competitors trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, including modeling for risk or loss ratio products (i.e. insurance and warranty).
- 5+ years of experience as a CFO, Finance Director, VP of Finance, or similar leadership role within a high-growth SAAS technology company.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles, accounting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Startup fundraising experience.
- Track record of driving financial growth, optimizing costs, and enhancing profitability.
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced early startup environment.
