Patient Care Representative:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures.
  • Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
  • Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
  • Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
  • Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).


SUPPLEMENTARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Depending upon the patient volume and/or patient flow, you may be required to perform the following tasks.

  • Dispense contact lenses and perform contact lens progress checks.
  • Assist patients in the selection process of spectacles, and the delivery and fitting of patient spectacles.
  • Assist with answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and effectively maintaining appointment books for doctors, as well as assist in completing recalls.
  • Occasional travel to support nearby offices may be requested.
