Description

Position Overview

Shelter House is a community of residents, staff and volunteers working together to provide basic human services for the men and women of the Greater Cincinnati area who are experiencing homelessness. The Community Receptionist is responsible for being the face of Shelter House which includes greeting guests, handling inquiries, setting meetings and managing various office duties.

Essential Job Duties

  • Relay incoming and interoffice calls
  • Greet all visitors/clients, directing them to the correct offices when necessary
  • Accept and sign for packages
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary workspace
  • Relay all resident messages to the appropriate supervisor
  • Maintain sign in sheet for new clients and volunteers
  • Run reports in VESTA per requests
  • Post daily activities through Yammer network
  • Manage the queue in VESTA
  • Schedule appointments for clients with Case Managers as needed
  • Assist with donations
  • Sort, stamp and distribute mail


Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma is required
  • 1+ Years of related Customer Service
  • 1+ year of receptionist experience

Skills & Abilities
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Must present a warm, welcoming and professional demeanor with staff, clients and the outside community
  • Must have strong verbal, written and time management skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • Must be able to navigate a multi-line phone system
  • Ability to work in Office 365


Physical Requirements (% of time spent performing requirements)
  • Time siting 50% or less
  • Working on computer 100%
  • Answering calls 100%
  • Lifting items 5%, must be able to lift 7 lbs
