As part of the Innovation organization, the CTO Office is responsible for architecting, designing, and bringing together the core capabilities of Schneider Electric portfolio companies to help accelerate grid transformation. Rapidly increasing grid resources both in-front-of-the-meter and behind-the-meter are creating challenges for utilities and customers adopting new energy resources. The primary goal of this role is to develop both business and technical capabilities and innovative approaches to advance energy management and grid optimization across the entire energy value chain. This includes developing conceptual views, reference architectures and frameworks to help Innovation and other organizations understand the grids future structures (components/interactions) and how our software portfolios can be better integrated into a broader utility platform to meet innovation's roadmaps goals and objectives. This will help increase flexibly, interoperability, and cyber security across our software portfolios as we build out more prosumer and utility platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develops use cases and architecture strategies that inform R&D roadmaps and investments.
  • Provides leadership guidance, makes recommendations, and collaborates with others to ensure solutions meet the business goals and objectives.
  • Lead, build, and enhance reference models and maturity frameworks to help inform roadmaps and strategies.
  • Work closely with other architects and leaders to deliver artifacts needed for solution architecture deliverables.
  • Advises projects and programs on execution strategy across different lines of business focused on the grid of the future.

We are looking for a bright, passionate, analytical person who loves solving challenging problems in a complex ecosystem, loves to dig into technology, and is ready for a bold, far-reaching mission.
  • 10+ years of utility experience working with business and technology leaders to understand new initiatives and/or existing challenges and recommend software and services
  • Strong collaboration with program/delivery managers to translate technical risk into tactical actions that can be injected into day-to-day activities to support risk mitigation.
  • Expert with grid systems to manage solar, batteries, electric vehicles, smart meters, and other connected devices
  • Familiar with control and coordination of all the different grid elements (assets, devices, configurations, etc.
  • Familiar with IT/OT applications (ADMS, DERMS, GIS, Asset Management, CIS, etc.) and deployment of large-scale renewable energy resource
  • Development of technology roadmaps and advise on business case creation
  • Development of architectural guidelines, specifications, and design principles related to current and future technological environments
  • Assessing the current systems architecture and recommending solutions for improvement
  • Describing software structure, characteristics, behavior, and other aspects to project stakeholders
  • Overseeing development teams and provide regular updates on systems architecture projects
  • Practical application and knowledge of Azure, AWS cloud platforms, and cloud services
