Position Description
The Town of Marana is seeking a Maintenance Associate III position to work in the Public Works Department with the Street Maintenance Division. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in a fast-paced environment. The Public Works Department provides services that are vital to our community's health, safety and comfort.
Normal Work Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Expected Hiring Range: $19.12/hr - $23.42/hr July 1, 2024 $20.65/hr -$25.30/hr
Salary Range: $19.12/hr - $27.73/hr July 1, 2024 $20.65/hr - $29.94/hr
- placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget
Examples of Duties - Leads work crews performing general roadway maintenance
- Operates all Class B vehicles
- Assures safety rules and regulations are observed on the job site
- Tracks and manages work orders, work flow and supplies
- Removes and replaces concrete by operating light equipment; cutting and breaking out damaged concrete, setting forms and prepares subgrade, pouring and finishing concrete
- Removes and replaces asphalt; cuts asphalt, prepares subgrade, installs new asphalt, crack seals roads
- Transports and operates equipment; skid steer, Loaders, gannon, backhoe, kick broom, and steel/rubber rollers
- Sets up traffic control devices
- Inspects and maintains equipment, blue staking, inventory, and processes work orders in Cartegraph
Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training
- Over five (5) years of street construction/maintenance experience or closely related field
- Valid Arizona Driver License
- Valid Class B CDL w/Tanker Endorsement or must obtain within 6 months of employment
- Subject to random testing per DOT (FMCSA) requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and a 50 pound lift test
- Ability to pass both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check
- Arizona Certified Pesticide Applicator or must obtain within 6 months
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Valid Arizona Class B CDL w/Tanker Endorsement plus over five (5) years of street construction/maintenance experience
- Experience working in an Municipality/Government setting
