**Job Summary:**
We offer an exciting and exclusive opportunity to gain technical experience in a unique atmosphere with competitive pay. No experience needed to join the Canterbury Park team as a Wagering System Attendant where you will learn firsthand about the exciting world of horse racing.Responsible for supporting the Companies mission, vision, and values by providing fun and games like no place else, and adheres to the Canterbury Way by focusing on our core values of family, fun, integrity, and community.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Lead by example.
* Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
* Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, delegates effectively and coaches and mentors direct reports for growth opportunities.
* Responsible to ensure all tote (wagering) machines are stocked and ready prior to each live racing met; which may also include cleaning and testing machines.
* Assist Canterbury Parks guests that may have questions or issues with our wagering machines with all questions, under general supervision of our Assistant Tote Manager.
* Assist tote management in emptying cashed and cancelled tickets from wagering machine throughout your shift, when applicable.
* Assist Wagering (Mutuels) supervisory staff in recovering lost vouchers and tickets.
* Communicate any machine malfunctions to the Assistant Tote Manager.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.
**Supervision:**
* None
**Required Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or GED, 0-6 months of machine maintenance experience in a related field; OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Providing exceptional service to our guests during the live racing season.
* Must be willing to pitch in with other departments based on business need.
* Ability to interact with guests and co-workers in a professional manner.
* Must be able to pass Canterbury Parks pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
* Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Knowledge of horse racing is a plus.
* Previous customer service experience.
* Some knowledge in electronics and computers.

* Maintain a flexible working schedule, which may include nights and weekends during the live race season May September.

* Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
