**Job Summary**
The Groundsman is an entry level person that understands general construction labor practices and safety requirements, however, generally works under the direct supervision of a Lineman or Construction Foreman.
**Responsibilities**
* Maintain a clean, neat, professional appearance Wearing the company uniform during all project related duties unless specifically directed otherwise by a superior.
* Help load and unload daily supplies and equipment on to and off of company vehicles.
* Possess the desire and ability to work with hand tools and perform a wide variety of hands-on tasks related to the installation of connectivity components.
* Knowledgeable on the proper use of basic hand tools.
* Ability to effectively and safely complete work as assigned by the Lineman or Construction Foreman.
* Ability to complete the tasks assigned in a timely manner.
* Ability to operate company vehicles as required.
* Report any unsafe situations to the Lineman or Foreman on the project.
* Use proper care on all company assets to avoid breakage, misuse, theft, etc.
* Complete and submit basic paperwork (timecards, material forms, etc.) according to company policies and procedures.
* Understands, adheres to, and promotes the Environmental, Health & Safety policies of AFL Telecom.
* Attend classes and training sessions, as requested by AFL management, to obtain and maintain certifications and/or licenses.
* Other duties as assigned by Manager.

**Qualifications**
* Ability to pass pre-employment screening
* Valid Drivers License
* Finger & wrist dexterity & hand/eye coordination.
* Ability to work from heights such as man lifts, scissor lifts & roof tops utilizing proper fall protection.
* Ability to use small hand tools.
* Ability to use power tools.
* Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.
* Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs., and drive a vehicle.
**Working Conditions**
* Job is usually performed in outdoor environments under multiple environmental conditions.
* Ability to accept periodic assignments that involve travel away from immediate district office area based on client needs, business needs and project scope.
* Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions; chemicals & solvents; mechanical, electrical, and/or other hazards.
* General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. But ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours is required.
* Must be able to work in the United States.
