**Job Description**
Job Title: Laundry Attendant
Department: Housekeeping
Reports to: Laundry Supervisor
Position Summary:
To ensure cleanliness and quality of all linen before going back into circulation
Essential Functions:
* Removing towels and/or pillowcases from the linen cart
* Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash or discard.
* Placing clean pillowcases through the iron, properly folding and stacking them
* Fold clean articles into designated size, either by hand or using folding machine
* Lift over 50lbs; push and pull carts that can weigh over 100 pounds
* Safely and properly use washers, dryers, linen ironers and folders
* Follow any and all daily duties and responsibilities that need to be carried out.
Experience:
* Previous hotel experience preferred, but not necessary
* Previous laundry experience preferred
Skills:
Must be reliable; willing to work weekends and holidays
Must have a working knowledge of all cleaning equipment
Must be a self-starter
Must be able to effectively communicate in English with management, fellow associates and guests
Physical Job Requirements:
Must be physically fit and have the ability to bend, stoop and lift
Must be able to be on your feet for up to 8 hours
Ability to walk and push and pull up to 100 lbs
Environment:
The environment includes large, industrial equipment, gas
Hearing; must be able to hear requests of guests as well as management
Speaking; must be able to communicate between departments as well as with guests
