Position Title: R&D Lab Manager
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Lab Manager to provide administrative management and oversight for our cutting-edge software development research laboratory. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the software development lab, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful execution of projects. As the Lab Manager, you will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and creative environment, managing resources efficiently, and driving the team towards achieving key milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of talented software developers and researchers.
Provide guidance on technical challenges and ensure the team's professional development.
Provide strategic leadership to the lab, setting clear goals and priorities aligned with the organization's research objectives.
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects within established timelines and budgets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives.
Implement and enforce best practices in project management methodologies.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the software development lab.
Optimize the utilization of lab resources, including hardware, software, and testing environments.
Ensure the lab is equipped with the necessary tools and technologies to support ongoing research and development activities.
Collaborate with external partners and research institutions to enhance the lab's capabilities.
Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
Establish and enforce coding standards, testing protocols, and documentation practices.
Ensure efficient allocation of lab resources.
Collaborate with stakeholders to secure funding for strategic initiatives.
Communicate project status, progress, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders regularly.
Foster collaboration both within the lab and with external partners, stakeholders, and research institutions. Promote interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Establish and enforce rigorous research methodologies, standards, and quality assurance practices, and continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the lab.
Stay current with advances in the field, emerging technologies, and experimental techniques. Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting expertise to lab members.
Encourage a culture of innovation, research, and experimentation within the lab.
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with a focus on research and development.
Proven experience in a leadership or management role, preferably within an R&D setting.
Strong technical background in software development.
Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
