Event Sales Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

We are seeking a hospitality focused and organized individual to join our team as an Event Sales Manager. Is responsible for generating revenue by promoting and selling event spaces, catering services, and other offerings to clients for weddings, corporate functions, social gatherings, and other special events. Leading the sales efforts, manage client relationships, and coordinate event logistics to ensure successful execution and client satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

  • Identify sales opportunities, generate leads, and actively pursue new business through networking, cold calling, and prospecting.
  • Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify competitive offerings to inform sales and pricing strategies.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships through effective communication and personalized service.
  • Understand client needs, preferences, and event requirements to customize proposals, packages, and pricing options.
  • Conduct site visits, showcase event spaces, and address client inquiries to promote venue amenities and secure bookings.
  • Prepare and present event proposals, contracts, and agreements tailored to client specifications and budget constraints.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contractual agreements with clients, ensuring alignment with company policies and profitability objectives.
  • Coordinate contract revisions, obtain client signatures, and manage documentation throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal departments, including catering, operations, and audiovisual teams, to plan and execute events seamlessly.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including room setup, audiovisual requirements, menu selections, and special requests, ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Provide on-site supervision and support during events, addressing any issues or concerns and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Track sales performance, generate reports, and analyze data to evaluate sales trends, revenue growth, and conversion rates.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), pipeline activity, and sales forecasts to measure progress against sales goals and identify areas for improvement.


KNOWLEDGE, EXPIERENCE AND SKILLS

  • A bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in event sales, catering sales, or hospitality sales, preferably in a hotel, banquet facility, or event venue.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and building client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM software for sales tracking, reporting, and customer relationship management.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate client events and business needs.


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:


  • Ability to move around the event venue or office space to conduct tours with clients, showcase event spaces, and coordinate logistics.
  • Clear and articulate verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Active listening skills to understand clients' needs, preferences, and event requirements and to provide tailored recommendations and solutions.
  • Effective written communication skills for preparing proposals, contracts, and email correspondence.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of event materials, promotional materials, or equipment, such as brochures, signage, or display items up to 40 lbs.
