Currently supporting a leading EPC with a great track-record in power, renewable, and industrial projects as they expand their Engineering team. They have a key hire to make for a Senior PV/Solar Engineer to take the lead in driving technical excellence for their utility-scale solar projects.
This is not a one-dimensional role but a chance for a gifted, rounded Electrical Engineer, with PV experience to focus on PV modeling, design, and operational efficiency, coordinate with stakeholders, manage engineering deliverables, and ensure seamless project execution from conception to commissioning across a range of high-value utility scale projects.
The role is based on site with what can only be described as one of the more passionate, detail-oriented and invested managers we have spoken to. Relocation is supported.
The successful candidate will be looking to exercise the following skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience (c.5 years) in utility-scale solar PV system design and engineering for
- production & performance, equipment sizing, PV design & layout, estimation, specification, procurement & bid evaluation support, construction, interconnection, and operation of a distributed generation solar PV power plant.
- Site evaluation, proposal development support, detail engineering, production modeling, and commissioning for new & retrofit installations.
- Liaison with AHJs, utilities, Engineer of Record (EORs) subcontractors, major equipment vendors,
- and customers.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, IEEE, & OSHA).
- Proficiency in PVsyst and AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and codes
- Experience with project management and on-site work.
- Coachability and Teaching mindset.
