Job Summary
To assist the Office of Retention staff in fulfilling its mission to retain first-time, full time freshmen students and ultimately graduate them. This is done by assisting staff with administrative duties which aid in the operation of day-to-day activities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with all administrative duties including but not limited to: answering phones, emails, student questions and concerns, booking tutorial sessions, and answering student/parent questions with the registration process.
Assistance with statistical data collection for reporting/funding purposes. Assisting staff in gathering information for reports as requested by various school officials such as the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Tittle III.
Assisting office staff with planning and implementation of various programs, workshops and classroom presentations with a focus on the retention and edification of black male students enrolled.
Other duties as assigned related to the day-to-day operations and mission of the Office of Retention
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of one-year full time working experience in an educational setting as an administrative assistant or related position.
- Proficient experience using basic technology such computers/laptops, printers, copiers and Microsoft Office Applications.
- Strong commitment to student success and academic achievement especially black males.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Two years of experience working in a service related position
