Experienced Litigation Attorney

A highly regarded, established firm located in Annapolis, Maryland, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our talented legal team and advocate on behalf of our clients in complex litigation matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in various litigation matters related to real estate and construction law, from case inception through trial and appeal if necessary.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze complex legal issues, and provide sound legal advice to clients.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Prepare and attend depositions, hearings, and mediations to advocate for clients' interests effectively.
  • Collaborate with the litigation support team, including paralegals and legal assistants, to ensure smooth case management and timely filing of documents.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution methods to achieve favorable outcomes for clients when appropriate.
  • Keep clients informed about case developments and provide strategic recommendations to achieve their goals.
  • Stay up to date with changes in relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends affecting real estate and construction litigation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the Maryland State Bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Litigation Attorney, preferably with a focus on real estate and construction law, including substantial trial experience.
  • Proven track record of successful representation in complex litigation cases.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills with the ability to craft compelling legal arguments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
