Diverse Talent has partnered with Wildlands Restoration Volunteers in the search for their next Executive Director. WRV seeks an experienced individual who is passionate about WRV s mission: Building diverse communities that care for the land .
The ED leads WRV s continuing efforts to build a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive community of staff and volunteers who are committed to healing the land. The ED is responsible for leading a staff of 15, providing oversight to the programs and operations of WRV. The ED reports to the Board of Directors. Areas of responsibility include strategic planning; donor, partner, and community relationships; senior staff leadership; financial oversight; operations oversight; and coordination with the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a passion for WRV s mission that inspires staff and volunteers. Foster and maintain a culture of inclusion and equity across all facets of the organization.
- Create a vision to drive the expansion of WRV s mission across the Front Range and Western Slope of Colorado.
- Lead development and implementation of WRV s strategic plan.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the senior staff.Set clear expectations for performance, deliver prompt feedback, assess development needs and deliver training opportunities.
- Working with the Managing Director, ensure that all projects and trainings within WRV s eight Programs are delivered as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Working with the Director of Finance, develop the annual budget for Board approval. Monitor results and report on WRV s financial status at each Board meeting. Manage financial results to achieve approved budget.
- Working with the Director of Development, expand WRV s fundraising efforts to significantly increase donations and grants. Maintain strong relationships with WRV s donor base.
- Ensure excellent maintenance of WRV premises, equipment, tools, IT, vehicles and other infrastructure.
- Ensure absolute compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Serve as principal ambassador for WRV to strategically important constituencies. Act as the official WRV spokesperson and participate actively in a variety of public forums.
- Ensure standards and practices within WRV build and extend our reputation.
- Communicate with and regularly update the WRV Board Chair and the Executive Committee.
- Ensure that policies adopted by the Board are implemented.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of visionary leadership experience at a nonprofit.
- Experience leading, managing and mentoring a team of at least three senior staff.
- Knowledge and experience in financial management, including budgeting and revenue development.
- Experience in, and passion for, fundraising.
- Ability to build external relationships and communicate the brand and initiatives of WRV.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic plans.
- Excellent analytic skills and written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills; enthusiasm for collaborative work with internal and external partners.
- Experience relevant to WRV s mission is valued. Must embrace environmental and conservation efforts.
- Must possess an understanding and commitment to DEI externally and internally.
- Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- English language fluency and Spanish language proficiency preferred.
- This position will require occasional work on evenings and weekends.
