Assistant Project Estimator

Job Details

We are seeking an Assistant Project Estimator who is enthusiastic and detail-oriented to support our Estimation team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to begin their career in construction project management. The Assistant Project Estimator will help in preparing accurate estimates and project proposals under the guidance of senior estimators.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting site inspections and gathering necessary measurements and data.
• Support the preparation of cost analyses including labor, material, and time estimates.
• Help compile and organize project documentation and proposals.
• Engage with suppliers to gather price quotes and material specifications.
• Maintain and update project files and databases to ensure accuracy and readiness.
• Collaborate with the estimating team to learn from on-the-job experiences and apply best practices.
• Participate in client meetings and project briefings as needed.
• Assist in the review of architectural and engineering drawings to ensure compliance and feasibility.

Qualifications

• Associate s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong foundational knowledge of construction and roofing processes is preferred.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to learn industry-specific software.
• Strong Computer Skills, and experience with web based applications.
• Ability to type 55-65 words per minute, minimum.
• 10-key by touch preferred, but not required.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• A proactive approach and eagerness to learn from senior staff.
