Job Details
We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team to work on finance operations. This role is essential in managing our financial records and operations, blending bookkeeping, vendor payments, tax preparation and e-commerce financial management. This position favors individuals who find joy in math and algorithms rather than conventional accounting practices. This role is on-site in our San Diego office.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle bookkeeping tasks including month end reconciliation and accounts payable and receivable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Manage vendor payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Assist in tax preparation and filing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Oversee the financial aspect of our Shopify storefront, including sales tracking, inventory management, and revenue reporting.
- Utilize QuickBooks for various financial operations and reporting.
- Develop and maintain financial spreadsheets for internal tracking and analysis.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in tax laws.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance or related field.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax preparation.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with managing financials in a Shopify environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Supply chain experience a plus
