Description

Position Title: Environmental Engineer

Overview: Responsible for ensuring that all Environmental programs are operating effectively at the Mill.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Administers various environmental programs of the mill
  • Operates/maintains the wastewater treatment plant to meet the industrial wastewater permit requirements
  • Reviews daily environmental compliance, investigate any issues and reports breakdown to agencies & leadership
  • Prepares/reviews environmental reports required by different agencies
  • Manages compliance with the state and federal green-house gas requirements and the cap and trade program
  • Serves as liaison with environmental agencies on environmental-related issues and inspections
  • Obtains/updates/maintains environmental plans and permits
  • Collaborates with the department involved in an environmental incident and ensures that an environmental incident report is completed and tracks corrective action implementation
  • Conducts annual and initial environmental compliance training for employees; completes required offsite environmental training and certification
  • Maintains/reviews the hazardous material plan for chemicals used in the Mill; review and approve new chemicals
  • Keeps records of current with environmental regulatory changes and their impact on the Mill operation
  • Informs the leadership about changes needed
  • Performs call duty functions for Production/BOD
  • Participates in community outreach meetings (i.e., Ormond Beach Group Meetings)
  • Performs/coordinates environmental due diligence audits
  • Audits the laboratory tests performed by the lab technicians
  • Ensures that all environmental invoices and fees are paid on time
  • Oversees and coordinates subcontracted projects and reports (includes emission source testing, title V certification and renewal, wastewater analyses and hazardous waste pick up and disposal)
  • Performs safety audits and participate in the Mill's safety program
  • Oversees the Technical Department in the absence of the Technical Manager
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • A bachelor degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and reporting requirements for manufacturing/industrial industries
  • 3 years experience with manufacturing in an Environmental role

Pay Transparency: The starting annual salary for this opportunity ranges from $100k-$115k. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance.
