City Experiences is seeking a Pipe Fitter for our Puerto Rico Ferry operation in Ceiba PR.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

The Pipe Fitter will assist the Electrician on the organization, direct maintenance and repair of electrical systems, services, and equipment for the district. They will maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all electrical fixtures and systems in district facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safety First. Be an active advocate of, and participant in, the Safety Culture. Safety shall always remain the highest priority.
  • Read and understand blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  • Select and install supports, pipe hangers, and other metal structures to securely support piping installations within the vessel.
  • Coordinate with supervisor to layout pipe routing and connection details.
  • Turn off steam, water, or gas from pipe sections and release stored energy, or drain pipe from all fluids prior to commencing work.
  • Cut, thread, and hammer pipes according to pipe system specs.
  • Creates new pipe penetrations, according to drawings.
  • Cleans, sands, and smooth surfaces, using appropriate tools, such as scrapers, sandpaper, steel wool, or chemicals.
  • Secure pipes to walls, fixtures, radiators, and tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
  • Repair and maintain pipe systems and components. Repair cracks and leaks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems such as flow obstructions, routing interferences, or insufficient flow rates.
  • Use saws and cutting torches to craft proper pipe sizes.
  • Use torches and/or welding equipment to assemble piping. May be assigned as hot work fire watch as needed.
  • Overhaul and test valves.
  • Select and install pipe fittings such as flanges, unions and tees.
  • Remain true to and champion the Company's RESPECT Core Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Consider reliability and efficiency regarding Company operations.
  • Support overall state of safety and security for the project site.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.


Requirements & Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Card), and/or ability to obtain and maintain
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification, and/or ability to obtain and maintain
  • Valid Driver's License
  • General Mechanical knowledge required
  • Previous marine experience or watch standing experience preferred
  • Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion to develop and execute innovative solutions to operational problems.
  • Possess and demonstrate superior judgment, analytical ability, and performance under pressure.
  • Logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work assignments.
  • Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Set and achieve high standards of performance.
  • Demonstrate initiative and be able to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • Ability to effectively interact with fellow employees.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, quickly changing environment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.


Salary range: $15 - $16 / hour
