JOB SUMMARY: The Patient Services Specialist Trainer will be responsible for all aspects of employee and patient service training including classroom training and EMR based training. Functioning as both a trainer and course developer, this role will partner with all levels of Patient Services. Patient Services Specialist will use their experience and knowledge to appropriately triage scheduling and clerical duties. This individual will have the technical knowledge to properly schedule appointments, maintain patient records, and perform clerical task. They understand the big picture of all workings of the clinic. Their work allows the physicians and clinical staff to devote their time to patient care that requires specialized knowledge. Multitasking abilities and attention to detail with little room for error is a must. This description incorporates full time, part time and PRN PSS trainer role.

This position is a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands, and mental competencies of this job require the employee maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.

Requirements

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE and REGISTRATION:
1. High school graduate or GED required
2. Associate degree in business administration or a secretarial program preferred

3. Current valid Arkansas driver's license.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
1. Minimum of seven years of previous experience in a medical office setting with customer service skills.
2. Competent in EMR and PMS systems.
3. Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
4. Excellent computer and other basic office equipment skills.
5. Skilled in gathering, interpreting and reporting insurance information.
6. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance practices and office procedures.
7. Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type from draft copy, review and edit reports and correspondence.
8. Skilled in time management and organization.
9. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
10. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
11. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, team members and the public.
12. Competent and able to troubleshoot front office copy machine and printer.
13. PSS Internal candidates must have scored 3.3 or higher on annual evaluation to be considered for PSS III.
