Primary Responsibilities:

In the role of Inspector, we'll count on you to:

Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipeline

Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction project

Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing

Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progre

Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications

BS in Engineering or Construction Management with one year of experience or NICET Level 2 with two years of experience

Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Considerable knowledge of construction materials, methods; ability to maintain field and office records; ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations; ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; ability to deal effectively with people.

Strong written communication skill

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing

An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

CTDOT experience

NETTCP HMA Paving Certification

NETTCP HMA Concrete Certification

Familiarity with COMPASS and AASHTOWare

Ability to interpret construction schedule
