Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Residency - October 2024

Come and join our LVN Residency Program! We invite graduate LVN's to apply for this unique opportunity. The next cohort will begin on October 7, 2024.

Integrated into a Hospital's education structure, the Texas Health LVN Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self-care sessions and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, but they also rotate/cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care.

The Texas Health LVN Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on-boarding program with a 15-month employment commitment that offers new LVN's an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills, and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life.

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work environment: Neuro Telemetry Department

Work hours: Work hours: Full-time, (3)-12-hour shifts; Rotating weekends, Holidays, and on call shifts required.

  • Neuro Tele Department (30 bed) provides care to a wide variety of Neuro Tele patients with diagnosis such as Stroke, Seizures, Parkinson, MS, Medical overflow, and Telemetry. This unit has had many DFW Great 100 Nurses and is known for their teamwork.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is an 815-bed, Magnet-designated regional referral center that has served the residents of Tarrant County and surroundings communities since 1930. Hospital services include cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and sports medicine, neonatal intensive care, and trauma/emergency medicine. Exemplar/Essay: In one-to-two pages, tell a story of a clinical situation that was especially meaningful to you as a student and that has helped shape your practice today.

Things you need for the position:

Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required.

Acceptance into THR residency program required.

Graduated within the last 12 months preferred.

Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred.

Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred.

LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required.

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required.
