JOB SUMMARY:

Responsibilities of this position include acting as a liaison to plant personnel for accounting issues, monitoring plant activities, the preparation of operational-related accounting activities for month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, inventory analysis, annual plant standard product costs and operating budgets, and analysis of plant variances.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

  • Review and analysis of daily plant inventory changes and daily changes in moving average raw material prices. Work closely with corporate and plant personnel to make all necessary corrections.
  • Preparation of month-end closing includes monitoring plant activities for unusual or incomplete transactions, developing timely financial reports and analysis of variances.
  • Preparation of standard costs and annual manufacturing budgets for assigned plants. Responsibilities include planning, preparation, analysis, and presentation of key financial data to appropriate plant personnel and corporate management.
  • Prepare and analyze month-end reports to include plant inventories and product costs.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations for specified accounts.
  • Review plant costs, AP/PO exceptions and Repair Part Inventory issues.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing group to provide analysis and interpretation of costs for timely decision support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year degree in accounting with appropriate cost accounting experience in a manufacturing organization
  • Demonstrated appropriate experience including communication skills and ability to work independently and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Proficiency at Microsoft Excel is required. Access or PowerBI is a plus.
  • Experience in ERP systems, SAP applications is desirable.
  • Advanced degree and/or CPA/CMA is a plus.
  • A willingness to travel as much as 5% of the time.
  • Hybrid work schedule eligible.
