Position: Hourly Lunchroom Aide (0.5 FTE/15 hours per week)

Duties:

Under the supervision of the administration, the lunch aide oversees the activities of school children in the school cafeteria. They watch for unsafe actions by children; promotes the use of good manners and sees that tables are cleared and cleaned after eating by guiding the children or doing it themselves. They guide the children in putting their waste in the different receptacles correctly. They may assist in distributing lunch materials; if overseeing special needs children, they are required to give special care in helping these individuals eat and get in and out of the cafeteria and may receive limited training in dealing with these children.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalency. Experience working with children in an urban, multi-cultural school setting is preferred; respect for differences in the development of young children; ability to work with children in both small and large groups.

Salary:

In accordance with the Less-than Six-Hour Aide salary schedule.
