**Position Overview**
We are looking for a Capital Buyer to join our Sourcing and Procurement team! This role will be responsible for partnering with the architectural, engineering, and facility startup teams to source, negotiate and procure all items needed for construction, refit and initial load out of our new facilities.
**LOCATION**
* Position will be based in Hamilton, Ohio but will require travel (at times for 2 3 weeks) at new facilities as they are being developed. The first of those will be in our recently announced Florence, Kentucky facility but future facilities may require national and international travel.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**
* Work with architectural, engineering and startup teams to understand the items needed and timelines required
* Search for qualified vendors that could meet our needs on a wide variety of products ranging from construction related items such as HVAC equipment to items required for initial stock out of the facility such as conveyor systems and PPE.
* Problem solve and expedite shipments as needed to minimize time lost during facility startup due to material shortages
* Proactively communicate to the appropriate stakeholders about potential delays or concerns with deliveries
* Process RFP and Purchase Requisitions that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers. May include orders with international suppliers and involve import/export trade knowledge
* Lead contact for intercompany departments such as Engineering, Maintenance, Data Integrity and Creation, Supplier files and Legal Contracts, Accounts Payable, Account Receivable and Farm Receiving
* Monitor supplier performance and establish improvement plans as required
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
* Strong communication skills with a customer centric focus
* Ability to work independently
* Can Do! attitude and a passion for learning a new and exciting industry and support the 80 Acres growth objectives
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) with ability to learn new systems or communicate suggest system improvements
* Able to travel as needed during facility startups. Likely involves periods of 2 3 weeks on site at a time
* Flexible on work times as this position will need to work closely with our technical team based in the Netherlands
* Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or related industry
* Supply Chain systems knowledge and data flow a plus
* Experience running RFPs across multiple categories
* Understand and track the key drivers behind commodity cost structures and report to company leaders
* Strong analytical and negotiation skills
* Ability to read blue prints
**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
* 5 years previous buying experience
* Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or related industry
* Supply Chain systems knowledge and data flow a plus
* Experience running RFPs across multiple categories
