THE MISSION OF THE SALVATION ARMY ADULT REHABILITATION CENTER

SUMMARY
Assist the Dispatcher in receiving, recording and distributing pick up orders to production assistants by
performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Route pick-up orders coming into the center, distributing them to the proper Production Assistant
each day.
2. Keep accurate records of location of all trucks and vehicles each day and the calls that are
completed each day.
3. Keep track of and file all pick-up tickets, advising the supervisor of any problems which may arise
(i.e. back calls, etc.).
4. Operate two- way radio equipment according to center policy and FCC regulations.
5. Assist phone receptionist when needed.
6. Route same-day special donations.
7. Maintain open communication with immediate supervisor at all times, informing supervisor of any
problems with vehicles, accidents, etc.
8. Keep track of supplies and forms needed for dispatch office and submit list to the person
responsible for ordering.
9. Wear back guard provided when doing any substantial lifting or moving.
10. Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army
OTHER DUTIES: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience
High school graduate or equivalent or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Familiar with two way radio codes and operation. Experience
in routing and transportation procedure.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write
simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
to customers and employees .

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram,
or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations.

Clerical/Mathematics Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Computer skills in data management.
