Job Details
The following position is available for the 2023-2024 school year:
PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT
Candidates shall:
* Have completed 2 years of post-secondary education, or
* Possess an Associate's or higher degree, or
* Possess a Credential of Competency Certificate
Must also have:
* Ability to work with severely handicapped students
* Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence
* Ability to present information one-on-one or in small groups
* Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
* Willingness to take direction from professional staff
* Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student matters
* Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers
* Ability to establish supportive and helpful relationships with children
* Ability to handle frequent distractions
* Capability of lifting/assist with the lifting of students
* Ability and willingness to assist with students with physical self-care needs (e.g. toileting)
* Ability to drive between buildings
