**General Manager, Renewable Energy Development**

**Washington, DC - Full Time**

CleanChoice Energy (CleanChoice) is seeking a General Manager (GM) to rapidly scale our solar development business into a self-sustainable Renewable Energy Development business. Through both geographic and asset class diversification, CleanChoice is initiating expansion of its existing, solar development business to include larger scale solar and energy storage projects with the intent to expand into additional emerging renewable and sustainable energy technologies. Given CleanChoices role as a retail energy supplier, it is only natural for the companys Renewable Energy Development team to begin advancing projects for self supply to its customer base, while increasing its efforts to secure revenue from project sales to third parties. * Building on and expanding existing processes and procedures to deliver projects that meet key financial and programmatic goals;

* Managing people resourcing, team organization, reporting structure, and role definition and enabling team building and professional development for all department team members.

The GM will be responsible for securing sources of capital to fund growth efforts, manage the teams P&L, develop strategies to achieve growth projections, and manage the development team. Additionally, the GM will drive key relationships with financial partners and other external stakeholders and will report directly to CleanChoices Chief Executive Officer.

**Key Responsibilities**

The GM will establish and implement a strategy to rapidly scale the business achieving financial growth objectives including:

* Establishing a target portfolio composition of renewable energy assets that fits the business' risk tolerance, financial constraints, and goals;

* Facilitating growth through strategic partnerships with industry partners, service providers, capital partners, and key consultants;

* Providing clear communication through presentations, plans and proformas for both internal and external consumption; and

* Providing leadership and decision making for key opportunities and events, contract negotiations, including soliciting leadership/investor support.

The GM will be responsible for the overall financial growth of the development unit including but not limited to

* Securing development financing and managing associated relationships;

* Managing capital allocation balancing growth objectives, project returns and risk;

* Overseeing, in collaboration with Finance & Accounting, the business unit P&L, budgeting, goal setting, and reporting.

The GM will be responsible for effective execution the overall business unit, driving to meet annual Objectives & Key Results execution including but not limited to:

**A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:**

* 10+ years of leadership experience in the U.S. renewable energy industry focusing on one or all of the following: corporate strategy, project finance, M&A, and project development

* Currently managing or successful completion of multi-GW growth initiative(s)

* Team oriented with a positive disposition

* Advanced strategic capabilities and intellectual flexibility that is adaptive to change

* Highly organized, motivated leader who recognizes and invests in people

* Skilled and respected negotiator that can achieve balanced agreements with counterparties

* Knowledgeable across all functions and disciplines that enable project development

* Proven track record of success and ability to maneuver through challenges and setbacks

* Strong communication skills and ability to summarize complex issues and convey information such that it invites and enables efficient decision making

* Comfort working in a high growth environment and can effectively collaborate with multiple disciplines

* Proficient with the financial tools required to develop models, business forecasts, and long-term planning
