Thunderbolt Solutions often has pop-up needs for Software Engineers. The filling of this requisition is contingent upon pop-up contract requirements. If you have a desire to grow professionally in the defense industry and would like to be considered when and if these position are available, we'd like to talk to you. The location will depend on the work but will include the Greater Philadelphia/Baltimore area. You must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a US Security clearance.
Responsibilities may include:
- Perform software subsystem definition, system definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation(coding), subsystem and system integration and tests for a subsystem.
- Participate in software requirement review, preliminary and critical design, integration readiness review, and software acceptance review.
- Research problems discovered by quality assurance, product support or customer, and develops solutions to the problems.
- Support proposal efforts.
- Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical problems associated with specific projects during frequent interorganizational and outside customer contacts.
- Participate in software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and software acceptance reviews.
- Research problems and developing solutions
- Collaborate with and mentor software and integration engineers to establish and drive operational acceptance criteria for projects and features.
- Work alongside the team to increase quality, resiliency, reduce risk, and drive efficiencies in development, release, and operational tasks.
Qualifications may include:The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years professional technical experience in Software, System and Subsystem Requirements analysis, development, documentation, and validation of integrated systems, Aerospace/Defense systems, or commercial systems.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in or with:
- DevOps pipelines large-scale software development, maintenance, or support of software programs and etc. preferred) GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket experience required (additional experience with command-line and Linux OS)
- Experience administering git version control systems, git VMWare
- Developing with the Python language/g++, Java, Ada experience preferred)
- Make software systems in *nix. (large-scale Compiling and releasing languages programming
- Reviewing compiler output and identifying errors in different
- Developing software with Agile development methodologies.
- Designing, implementing and operating build & release automation and continuous integration and deployment.
- Managing operational monitoring, metrics, and logging systems.
- Scripting/automation development skills.
- Demonstrated history of seeking out and bringing in new ideas.
- Unix system administration skills preferably in a container focused environment
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work remote and/or in the office
