Job Details
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of designated provider.
- Interviews patients, obtains and records patient information into patients' electronic medical record, and measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
- May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- May be required to obtain EKG tracings when ordered by attending providers
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Completes competencies as outlined by assigned department
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
- PRN (As Needed) -Day Shift
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent education/experience required
- Current CMA certification by AAMA, NHA or NCCT required
- BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation
Working Conditions:- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
