**WORK SCHEDULE:** Night shift 7pm - 7am

**JOB SUMMARY:** Lid Packers package product per the production schedule and specification sheet. They inspect product for fit and defects, maintain housekeeping duties, and label and number boxes as needed. Additionally, they assist Lid Operators by rolling sheet, grinding scrap, and feeding sheet into the trim press. They understand and align business operations and Lid Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

**JOB FUNCTIONS:** *Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.*

* **Work within and adhere to GPIs core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.**

* **Packing Lids: Follow production schedule and specification sheet to determine sleeve and case count. Pack correct number of lids into sleeves. Tape sleeves and pack sleeves into correct case by lane. Place cases on conveyor belt. Ensure pack station is supplied with bags and tape.**

* **Quality Control:**Continuously inspect lids for minor and critical color and physical defects while packing. Test lids from each row every 2 hours as indicated on Packer Quality Check Sheet. Scrap all lids outside specification and notify operators of defects. Perform inspection on quality holds as instructed by Supervisor

* **Grind scrap and assist Lid Operators:**Grind barrels of scrap lids while machine is running. During times when trim press is not running, assist Lid Operators by rolling sheet. Feed rolled sheet into assigned offline grinder and trim press as needed.

* **Housekeeping/Cleaning:**Keep area clean. Keep all scrap and bags off floor and empty trashcans as necessary. Participate in cleaning machines when needed. Clean packing trays and document per HACCP procedure. Complete round sheet.

* **Labeling and numbering cases:**Assist in labeling and numbering boxes.

* **Un-jam pad locker:** Execute proper IES of equipment; clear case(s) jammed in pad locker; change tape as needed.

* **Other duties as assigned.**

**BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS**

* Manufacturing experience preferred

* Must be able to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment

* Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills along with an attention to detail.

* Must be able to maintain a positive team environment, be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.

**SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:**

* Schedule is 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off. However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

* Some Departments/Jobs may run a M-F 8-hour Shift Schedule.

* Must be willing and able to work overtime.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

* Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.

* Awkward and/or repetitive movements.

* Routine Lifting up to 30 lbs.

* Occasional Lifting up to 30 lbs.

* Push/pull up to 30 lb. load.

* Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.

* Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.

* Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
