Stewardship Specialist (Offroad)


Job Details

**Location:** Missoula, MT, United States

* Conduct research into historical land-use policies and access laws

* Research existing and proposed policies that impact the publics access and outdoor recreation opportunities

* Demonstrate high standards of accuracy and attention to detail

* Craft the story-telling angle of advocacy and education initiatives to be meaningful to a wide audience

* Review and fact-check final deliverables of GIS Analysts, Writers, and Designers to ensure information released to the public is factual, digestible, and exciting for a lay audience while also being consistent with company policies and being sensitive to our customer-base and external partners objectives

* Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource fields, Recreation Management, Political Science, Geography, Non-Profit specializations, Marketing, or similar. Other degrees will be considered when paired with experience in applicable fields, or relevant certifications.

* Minimum Experience: Three (3) or more years of experience in managing projects, scoping work timelines, and determining program priorities. Two (2) or more years collaborating with external project partners and stakeholders. At least two (2) years working within the Offroad industry.

* Extensive knowledge of outdoor ethics and policies

* Passion for the offroad industry

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Experiencing writing strategic, customer-facing messaging

* Knowledge of public access challenges

* Drive to constantly learn

* Experience leading a team

* Detail-oriented, highly organized self-starter with an entrepreneur mindset

* Able to balance multiple priorities and develop solutions as challenges arise

* Maintains a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and working relationship with onX employees

* Trainer certifications in Tread Lightly and Leave No Trace principles

* Experience with outdoor recreation-specific mobile map products

* Knowledge of land use planning processes and public agency mandates

* Knowledge of U.S. environmental and land ownership history

* Advanced knowledge of onX products and services

* Experience collaborating with government agencies and non-governmental organizations
