School Age Teacher at Preschool

Job Classification: Full-time, at-will, hourly non-exempt

Salary range: $22 - $25 per hour; commensurate with experience

Children's Choice is a well-established Preschool with locations throughout San Diego County. We are looking for an experienced and caring Teacher for our School Age program.

The ideal candidate is passionate, patient, has excellent communication skills and is comfortable interacting with parents and addressing any of their concerns. The School Age teacher will follow all company and licensing rules and reports to the Center Director or the Assistant Director in her absence.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Meet the requirements set by the Department of Social Services under Title V for teacher: A Minimum of 12 units of Early Childhood Education college course work pertaining to infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children. Teaching Credential, Child Care Permit or Certificate, or bachelor's degree.
  2. Minimum of 6 months full-time or one-year part-time experience working with
  3. Applicants must be personable, reliable and child
  4. Strongly recommended: recreation background, arts, and/or musical instrument
  5. Proven ability to work effectively and professionally with children, families, and adult
  6. Demonstrated skills in effective communication, both written and
  7. First Aid and CPR certification
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Site Director and/or Assistant Director, the Teacher is responsible for the following areas:
  1. Maintain safety and ensure the welfare of all enrolled children, supervision of children during all
  2. Assist in the maintenance of appropriate standards for children's discipline and behavior standards using non-punitive methods.
  3. Day-to-day operation; including maintaining a harmonious and efficient work
  4. Curriculum: planning and implementation such as arts and crafts, group time, science, indoor and outdoor games, snack and lunch, tutoring.
  5. Develops and maintains professional relationships with classroom teachers, program co-workers, families, and other staff members.
  6. Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and other work-related
  7. Continues to develop professional
  8. Transport children between Preschool and Elementary school in company vehicle.
  9. Able to lift 50
  10. Other responsibilities as assigend
