Job Description:

General Summary: In partnership with the AVPFM, coordinates management of approximately thirty rental properties (commercial and residential). Supports short-range campus planning efforts and strategic utilization of university-owned property. Supports long-range campus planning efforts via implementation of City-required Major Institution Master Plan, including annual reporting and support for stakeholder meetings. Coordinates the Neighbor Relations program for the University. Assists with department emergency planning activities. Works independently on projects as assigned.

* Coordinates management of approximately thirty rental properties (does not include student housing or short-term conference uses). Primary liaison between the University and external property management company for non-SPU tenant occupied residential properties. Leases faculty/staff transitional houses. Makes recommendations regarding strategic use of property.

* Maintains official property files for the university. Works with realtors, closing agents and escrow companies to complete transactions related to the purchase or sale of property. Works with other parties to ensure process flows smoothly. Coordinates the collection, preparation, distribution and clarification of property data needed to complete the property-related responsibilities assigned to the Vice President for Business and Finance.

* Coordinates continued implementation of university's Major Institution Master Plan. Serves as primary internal and external contact for Master Plan standards, conditions, and requirements. Responsible for investigating topics, collecting data, preparing and writing reports in support of master planning and property activities required by agencies of the City of Seattle and community groups. In partnership with the AVPFM coordinates university participation and supports activities of the Implementation Advisory Committee. Attends monthly committee meetings.

* Supports internal short range space planning activities. Coordinates meetings, prepares and distributes materials necessary to support internal committees such as the Space Allocation Committee, annual six-year space planning update, and long range property/construction strategies.

* Responsible for neighbor relations for the University. Promotes good relationships between the University and local Queen Anne residents. Develops and implements outreach programs and activities that are of interest and benefit to neighbors of Seattle Pacific University. Serves as liaison between the University and the surrounding community. Investigates complaints and works with neighbors to provide solutions to concerns on such issues as traffic, parking, noise, etc. Channels communication regarding specific issues which involve other campus departments.

* Assists department emergency planning efforts.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree.

* Five years of progressively responsible office experience with a focus on planning (campus planning, space planning, etc.) or property management.

* Knowledge of real estate transactions and preparation of documents related to purchase, sale or lease of property.

* Two years of professional experience in business writing, proofreading, and/or editing. Must have good business writing, editing, and proof-reading skills

* Must have excellent attention to detail with an ability to focus in a busy environment, listen and take notes. Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential

* Must be self-motivated, flexible, and willing to accept challenges. Ability to work independently.

* Ability to collaborate and work closely with others in a team setting. Hospitable personality. Ability to manage and resolve conflict well.

* An active and maturing Christian faith, knowledge of and the willingness to actively support the Christian mission of the University and accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian Community.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project. Experience with Adobe Acrobat.

* All Facilities employees are designated as "essential staff" and are subject to working during times that the university closes due to inclement weather or an emergency.

Preferred qualifications:

* Experience in urban planning, space planning, lot coverage, land use concepts & code requirements, real estate development, construction. Experience working with architectural firms, attorneys.

* Familiarity with and able to read an institutional master plan.

* Ability to read an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

* Expereince with AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative suite, a plus.

Additional Information:

Position will remain open until filled. This a 32 hour per week position, hybrid remote work schedule possible (Must reside in the state of WA).

Rate of pay: $30.05 - $33.05 per hour, DOE

This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes generous contributions to an employee HSA account and a 7% contribution to a retirement account, for eligible employees, with immediate vesting in the plan.
